According to the plan, the ZKsync Era airdrop will begin on June 17 2024. This program aims to distribute tokens for free to platform users and contributors.

The updated FAQ explains the two main categories eligible to receive airdrops: Users and Contributors. A total of 89% of the total airdrop tokens were allocated to the User category.

This category includes users who have bridged crypto assets to ZKsync Era. Furthermore, the user has met at least one of the seven predetermined criteria.
Meanwhile, the remaining 11% is allocated to the Contributor category. This includes individuals or entities who have contributed to the ZKsync protocol and ecosystem through development, advocacy, education, or other participation, regardless of whether they have used the ZKsync network directly.
This airdrop distribution model is based on two approaches: usage and user base. Usage-based distribution emphasizes user activity in interacting on the ZKsync Era platform, such as bridging crypto assets and participating in other activities.

Meanwhile, user base distribution is given to active members who have connected their crypto assets and participated on the ZKsync Era platform. For user categories, the amount of tokens received will be determined by several factors.
These include the number of criteria met, the time-weighted average of their crypto asset balance in ZKsync Era (TWAB), and the bonus multiplier.

The calculation formula for this allocation will vary depending on the value of the crypto asset the user is bridging and how long they hold the asset. This is done to ensure fair and equitable distribution of tokens.
