ZKSync Airdrop Recipient Criteria Announced: 89% Allocated to Active Users!

Two Categories of ZKSync Airdrop Recipients

In general, there are two main categories of ZKSync airdrop recipients who are allocated 17.5% of the total ZK tokens:

• ZKSync Users: This category includes users who have transferred crypto assets to the ZKSync Era network and met at least one of the seven established criteria.

• ZKSync Contributors: This category includes developers, researchers, communities, and companies who have contributed to the development of ZKSync through various means, such as technology development, promotion, education, or active participation. As much as 11% of the total airdrop was allocated to this category.

Determining Factors for Allocation to ZKSync Users

For ZKSync users, meeting all seven criteria is just the first step. The size of the allocation received will also be influenced by the number of assets transferred and held in ZKSync Era, calculated based on a time-weighted average over the last 12 months.

Additionally, some user groups such as early adopters of Ethereum or holders of high-value ZKSync NFTs/native tokens could potentially earn allocation multipliers (larger allocations). The ZK Nation team also emphasized that user transaction volume will not affect the airdrop allocation.

Interestingly, the selection process for airdrop recipients does not only look at the activity history on ZKSync Era. However, it also takes into account the user's crypto wallet history on other networks.

Through this analysis, the ZKsync team aims to differentiate active users who like to experiment and support new protocols (such as coral reefs full of color and life) from bots or passive users who tend to be conservative and only use ZKSync for short-term profits.

Despite having to meet seven criteria and have an active crypto wallet history, ZK Nation still provides opportunities for users who have a low average holding amount. However, these users will not get an allocation multiplier (bonus).
