Bittime - Velocore Exchange on zkSync was hacked, suffering losses of around $10 Million.
The incident was discovered by “Officer Notes”, a hacking researcher. He found this to be true when highlighting vulnerabilities in the crypto sector.
Velocore Exchange on zkSync Hacked, Investigation Underway
Velocore reported that its liquidity provider token was the target of an attack by hackers. The token is an important part of their exchange operations.
Post the hack, the hackers managed to transfer more than 700 Ethereum (ETH) across the chain to the Ethereum mainnet .

Even though Velocore has passed security audits conducted by Zokyo, Hacken, and Scalebit, hackers still successfully exploited weaknesses in the decentralized exchange, according to documents from Velocore.

At the same time, Linea Blockchain experienced a temporary halt in block production during the attack.
The shutdown lasted for about an hour before normal operations resumed. The reasons behind this disorder are still unclear.

Luckily, Velocore Stable Pools was not affected by the attack, so it was still possible to withdraw funds from reserves.
The Velocore team collaborated with security experts and has contacted centralized exchanges (CEX) and immediately froze the stolen assets, in hopes of minimizing further losses.
