Bittime - Michael Saylor , President of MicroStrategy, is reevaluating his stance on the cryptocurrency landscape following the recent approval of an Ethereum spot ETF by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Saylor's Changing Perspective
In the latest episode of the “What Bitcoin Does” podcast with host Peter McCormack on May 25, Saylor discussed the potential impact of this regulatory approval. Previously cautious about the possibility of an Ethereum ETF gaining SEC approval, Saylor now sees this development as a positive step that will not only benefit Ethereum but also Bitcoin and the broader crypto industry.

Saylor believes that the approval of an Ethereum spot ETF adds an extra layer of legitimacy and defense to Bitcoin, potentially accelerating institutional adoption of the cryptocurrency. According to him, mainstream investors will likely allocate a portion of their portfolios to the crypto asset class, with Bitcoin capturing the bulk of this allocation. He estimates that Bitcoin could account for 60% to 70% of investors' crypto holdings, even as they allocate 5% to 10% of their portfolios to the asset class as a whole.
