Woman Indicted in $6.4 Billion Fraud Case
A woman accused of converting Bitcoin into cash and property to hide £5 billion or $6.4 billion fraud proceeds was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison following a trial in a London court on Friday.
Wen Jian, 42, denied three charges of money laundering. Claims to have never been aware of the Bitcoin breach. However, in March, following a trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was found guilty of one charge.

An investigation showed that UK law enforcement seized a wallet containing more than 61,000 Bitcoins, one of the largest cryptocurrency seizures in the world. Bitcoin, which was first accessed in 2021, is worth more than £3 billion.
During Wen's trial, prosecutors said Wen should have known the money was obtained illegally. The judge also said that although Wen admitted that there was no evidence to suggest he was involved in the fraud.
