Bittime -Good news came fromthe StarknetFoundation on Tuesday (07 May 2024) with the announcement of a seed grant program worth $5 million United States dollars (equivalent to IDR 80 billion) to support projects that are currently developing on the Starknet network.
This program aims to accelerate innovation in the blockchain realm. The grant funds, called the Starknet Seed Grants Program, will be distributed to at least 200 promising development teams. Each team will receive a grant of $25,000 USDC (USD Coin) or the equivalent of IDR 400 million.

The funding is expected to be the “final push” in their project launch on Starknet, a Layer-2 (L2) scaling solution based on zero-knowledge rollup technology for the Ethereum network.
Based on the Starknet Foundation's official report, this grant program targets Starknet-related projects that already have a minimum viable product (MVP) or proof-of-concept (PoC).
The grant application and evaluation process is designed to be simple and efficient to maximize participation. Decisions regarding grant approval will also be made quickly, "expected within about two weeks" after applications are received.
Although priority is given to developers who have previously worked on Starknet, this program is open to all interested parties.
Starknet's Popularity Soars
The Starknet ecosystem is currently experiencing a significant increase in adoption. Developers migrate to Starknet to take advantage of its advantages, such as low transaction costs, high scalability, and development tools that focus on developer needs.

Electric Capital's 2023 Developer Report states that the number of monthly developers using Starknet jumped to 730 people in December 2023.
This figure represents an increase of 265% compared to the 200 developers recorded using the platform in 2021.
Starknet x Nevermind Grant: Opportunity for All?
Starknet's commitment to advancing blockchain development extends beyond established development teams. Through collaboration with Nevermind, Starknet is offering an additional grant program worth $1 million US dollars (equivalent to IDR 16 billion) to support the development of applications and products on Starknet.
Unlike the Starknet Seed Grants Program, this collaboration program is open to development teams at all stages of development.
Whether teams are looking to integrate their product into the Starknet ecosystem, have a completed PoC, or even just have an interesting startup idea, all have a chance to receive a grant.

This program will provide grants of varying amounts, ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 US dollars (equivalent to IDR 800 million to IDR 4 billion). The fund aims to "advance the Starknet ecosystem with innovative, user-oriented products."

Additionally, the program will leverage the Starknet ecosystem network to facilitate future partnerships, collaborations and continued funding opportunities.
