Bittime - Coinbase's Base blockchain platformis holding its Onchain Summer event for the second time. This event aims to invite creators and developers to build on the Base blockchain network and attract more users.
Onchain Summer 2.0 will kick off on June 3 with a month-long online hackathon competition. The winner of the competition is entitled to a prize in the form of ETH crypto tokens with a total value of approximately $613,200.

The total prize pool that will be distributed throughout Onchain Summer is over $2 million in the form of grants, competition prizes, and blockchain transaction fee (gas) credits.
Base itself was launched in August last year and quickly became one of the most popular Layer-2 (L2) blockchain networks. Currently, the total value of digital assets locked in Base (TVL) stands at approximately $5.52 billion.

According to Base records, the first Onchain Summer succeeded in attracting more than 268,000 different users who made NFT (non-fungible token) creation transactions 700,000 times.

Although this profile picture (PFP) collection was created in early 2023, the anonymous team behind the project only auctioned 8,000 of its works on December 21, 2023.
