“Crypto people are really annoying.” The tweet is actually not that surprising because Markus himself is known to be skeptical of crypto trading and often compares it to gambling.
Markus' tweet appeared when the price of Bitcoin experienced a sharp decline, and was triggered by several major events in the crypto world.
Crypto Market Crashes Following Bitcoin Crash
In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin, the world's leading crypto asset, experienced a decline of nearly 10.3%, dropping from $64,600 to around $57,650 when this article was written.
Meanwhile, Ethereum, the second-largest crypto asset by market capitalization value , fell more than 11%, trading at $2,874 after falling from as low as $3,243 on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, Dogecoin also experienced a decline of almost 15%, from $0.1458 to around $0.1242 currently.

Speculation on Factors Causing the Crypto Market Crash
This decline is believed to be due to several factors, including the four-month prison sentence handed down to Binance founder CZ for violating the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and money laundering charges at Binance.

Additionally, a worse-than-expected jobs report and disappointment from Bitcoin-Ethereum ETF trading results in Hong Kong were also factors.
Although the Hong Kong ETF managed to record $12.4 million in trades and $141 million in inflows into Bitcoin and some into Ethereum, the figures were still far below US spot ETF assets and trading volumes, which stood at $740 million and $4.6 billion.
