Centrifuge Raises $15 Million for Real World Asset Platform
Centrifuge raised $15 million for their real-world assets platform. The funding was led by ParaFi Capital and Greenfield, and adds to the $7 million in strategic capital Centrifuge raised throughout 2022.
Centrifuge provides a collection of tokenized real-world assets (RWA). This includes assets such as loans, credit, and real estate.
This pool is specifically designed to manage RWA liquidity pools, which are assets held in smart contracts to help create a smooth market.
Centrifuge creates tokens for assets by creating NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) that contain links to detailed data outside the blockchain.
This method uses blockchain technology to ensure transparency and accessibility while securing sensitive data outside the blockchain, as explained in the project documentation.

Exploring RWA Liquidity Launch
Centrifuge is also exploring launching RWA liquidity pools on various other blockchains, including Arbitrum and Base.
Centrifuge states that their liquidity pool currently holds $285 million worth of assets, a figure that has risen rapidly from around $80 million at the end of 2022.

With this funding, Centrifuge will move forward with project development. This was conveyed by one of the founders, Lucas Vogelsang.
"(We) will continue to grow the team, invest in product development, and support education and growth of the broader tokenization ecosystem," said Lucas Vogelsang as quoted by Blockworks .

Other Companies Receiving Funding
In addition to Centrifuge, there are several other companies in the real world assets space that raised funding this week:
- Homium: Tokenized real estate platform Homium raised $10 million to place home equity loans on the Avalanche blockchain.
- RWA Inc: Fractional asset-focused company RWA Inc announced a $1.175 million private funding round this week.

- Matera: DeFi startup for content creators Matera raises $3.6 million.
