These nodes provide application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow applications to retrieve data from the blockchain and send transactions to the network.
Apart from that, RPC nodes also play a role in forwarding messages and conveying responses from the blockchain.

On April 2, Gateway FM shared initial testing results of cdk-erigon showing that they achieved 250 TPS (transactions per second) and had the potential to reach up to 500 TPS.
Although Bjelic stated that cdk-erigon is ready for real-world use, Gateway FM informed that a new RPC node will be launched on mainnet in the next few weeks.
This is done to complete the finishing touches and ensure security through audits.
