Consulting Company Top Leader Joins Ondo, Bitfarm Boss Resigns

Bittime - The crypto world is in turmoil. Ian De Bode, a top official at the renowned consulting firm McKinsey & Company, has just left his position as head of digital assets. He has now joined Ondo Finance, a crypto startup focused on the “tokenization” of real-world assets (RWA).

De Bode is not alone. Ondo has also previously hired former top brass from Goldman Sachs, including founder and CEO Nathan Allman, head of digital asset compliance, and vice president of partnerships.

De Bode's move is based on his strong belief in the future of digital assets. He sees Ondo as the right team to create an open and accessible financial system.

Ondo Finance: Real World Asset Tokenization

Ondo Finance specializes in real-world asset tokenization. For example, they have the USDY stablecoin which provides returns guaranteed by the US Treasury (US government debt securities). 

Ondo also recently invested $95 million into BUIDL, a blockchain-based money market fund from BlackRock.

CEO Bitfarms Mundur

Canadian Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms is looking for a new CEO. The current president and CEO, L. Geoffrey Morphy, will step down once the search for a replacement is complete. Morphy joined Bitfarms in 2020 and became CEO in December 2022.

According to Bitfarms chairman Nicolas Bonta, the company is transforming to meet investors' growing demand for Bitcoin and its mining activities. 

Although Bitfarms' share price rose 130% in the past year under Morphy's leadership, it has also fallen more than 20% in the past month in line with the downward trend in shares of other crypto mining companies.
