The Beginning: MACH Alpha Launch

The launch of ALT token staking marks the start of the gradual rollout of MACH Alpha, a rapid finality service aimed at Layer 2 Rollups.

MACH Alpha was developed as an active validation service (AVS) on top of EigenLayer, leveraging a restaking mechanism to support network security.

AltLayer plans to launch restaked rollup, a Layer 2 project that leverages EigenLayer's restaking mechanism to build network security. With this scheme, it is hoped that Layer 2 security will be more guaranteed.

Fast Finality Solution

Interestingly, MACH Alpha will be the first AVS under the restaked rollup framework to serve the two largest Rollups, OP Mainnet and Arbitrum One. This capacity makes MACH Alpha a potential solution to increase the scalability and security of both Rollups.
