Bittime - There was a significant cryptocurrency outflow from the KuCoin exchange in the last 24 hours. According to on-chain data analysis firm Scopescan, the outflows totaled approximately $1.197 billion.
Check out the complete details and explanation behind this incident in this article.
Exodus Triggered by Legal Problems
This massive outflow coincides with the recent news that the US government has filed criminal charges against KuCoin. The US government has filed criminal charges against KuCoin for alleged violations of Anti-Money Laundering ( AML ) laws .
The indictment accuses KuCoin of failing to implement adequate Know Your Customer ( KYC ) procedures, a cornerstone of AML compliance. These procedures are designed to verify user identity and help prevent the platform from being used for illegal activities.
Prosecutors also alleged that KuCoin operated in the US without the necessary licenses. This raises concerns about the exchange's compliance with financial regulations created to combat money laundering and other financial crimes.
The exact nature of these allegations has not yet been disclosed. However, it appears to have worried investors, prompting them to withdraw their assets from exchanges to reduce potential risks.

- $274 million in USDT
- Approximately $72 million Ethereum (ETH) (equivalent to 19,866 ETH at $72 per ETH)
