Bittime - The crypto market is showing unusual calm with Bitcoin (BTC) stabilizing above the $64,000 mark, after experiencing significant price fluctuations last week. Despite this, Dogecoin (DOGE) stole the show with an impressive increase of 7%.
Bitcoin Edges Down
The last trading week started with less than favorable conditions for this most dominant cryptocurrency. Bitcoin had recovered from the previous week's sharp decline, being at $69,000 (around Rp1,090,155,000) on Monday, but soon corrected around $5,000 (around Rp79,000,000.00).
The decline came on a day when BTC touched its two-week low below $61,000, triggered by some investors' profit-taking and uncertainty ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.
However, after the US Federal Reserve decided to maintain its existing monetary policy, Bitcoin rose and surged 4%, managing to break through $68,000 (approximately Rp1,074,120,000.00) on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, this momentum did not last long, and Bitcoin returned to a position around $64,000. Bitcoin's market capitalization remains stable at $1,260 trillion (approximately Rp19.9 quadrillion) on CoinGecko, with a market dominance of a little over 49%.
