MicroStrategy Offers $500 Million to Hunt for More Bitcoin

Bittime - MicroStrategy, a software company known as the "Bitcoin development company", is again looking to increase its Bitcoin holdings with a $500 million bond offering.

Convertible Bonds for Bitcoin

MicroStrategy announced Wednesday that it will offer $500 million of convertible senior notes to institutional buyers. These bonds will mature in 2031 and the funds raised will be used to purchase Bitcoin.

This offering is a further step in MicroStrategy's efforts to increase its Bitcoin holdings. Last week, the company announced a similar $600 million offering.

Largest Corporate Bitcoin Holder

Currently, MicroStrategy is the largest corporate Bitcoin holder with 205,000 coins, worth more than $15 billion.

The current price of Bitcoin is $73,220 per coin, up almost 9% in the past week. Today, Bitcoin hit a new record above $73,600.
