Bittime - StarkWare, the company behind Starknet (STRK) has launched a new open-source zero-knowledge (ZK) prover called Stwo. StarkWare itself is a company that develops ZK technology for blockchain scaling.
Prover ZK is a tool used to generate cryptographic proofs that can shrink transactions and increase security. By using a faster ZK prover, StarkWare can reduce processing costs and user costs. Prover ZK has also played an important role in scaling Ethereum, one of the largest blockchain platforms in the world.
Stwo Open-source
Stwo is an open-source ZK prover based on Circle STARK, a ZK technology developed by StarkWare. Anyone can run and modify this ZK prover code according to their needs.
Stwo will also benefit Starknet, a layer-2 blockchain network that uses ZK-rollup, a method for combining multiple transactions into one proof.
ZK-rollup Is One of the Best Scaling Solutions for Blockchain
ZK-rollup is a scaling solution that enables transactions on the blockchain to be faster, cheaper, and more secure. ZK-rollup uses ZK-proofs to verify transactions outside the main chain, thereby reducing the load on the main chain.
Starknet is the largest ZK-rollup based on total value locked ( TVL ), which was $1.33 billion. Starknet was followed by zkSync Era with a TVL of $868 million.

ZK Technology Attracts Interest from Many Parties
ZK technology is not only useful for blockchain scaling, but also for preserving user privacy. Many projects use ZK technology for various purposes, such as identity verification, voting, etc.
One example is Humanity Protocol, which launched ZKP-based biometric palm recognition technology for Web3 identity verification. Humanity Protocol also received support from more than 20 venture capital firms.
OK, I will try to continue the article by adding information about Starknet and StarkWare. The following is the result of my writing:
What is Starknet?
Starknet is a layer-2 network operating on top of Ethereum, allowing dApps to achieve unlimited scale without sacrificing security and decentralization. Starknet uses STARK technology to ensure computing integrity by generating verifiable zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs on the chain. Starknet is a Validity-Rollup, meaning that ZK proofs guarantee the validity of transactions, and transaction data is available on the chain.
Starknet allows developers to implement any business logic using smart contracts written in Cairo, an expressive and high-performance ZKP programming language.
Cairo is also used by StarkEx, a Validity-Rollup service that supports a variety of use cases, such as NFT trading, derivatives, spot, payments, and DeFi pooling. Starknet and StarkEx are products of StarkWare, a company that develops STARK-based solutions for the blockchain industry.
