Helius Raises $9.5 Million to Enhance Solana Developer Platform

Helius, a software development platform for the Solana blockchain, just secured $9.5 million in funding. These funds will be used to strengthen the development team and improve their technology with the ultimate goal of improving the developer experience on the Solana platform.

Helius plans to build webhooks and remote procedure control (RPC) to facilitate seamless communication between applications and interaction with blockchain nodes. Helius CEO, Mert Mumtaz, revealed several ambitious targets for the company, including:

• General compressor development for Solana
• Improved RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
• Creation of a new RPC client
• Attracting thousands of web developers and large institutions to the Solana platform

With this fresh funding, Helius plans to add four more engineers to their team, bringing the total full-time employees to 14 people. Helius wants to continue to develop the team strategically with the company's focus on team expansion and technological advancement.

Additionally, Steve Vassallo of Foundation Capital will join Helius' board of directors.

The investment was led by Foundation Capital, with significant contributions from Reciprocal Ventures, 6th Man Ventures, Chapter One, Propel, and several key figures, including Balaji Srinivasan, Kyle Samani, and Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal.

With an injection of funds and an aggressive development plan, Helius has the potential to become a key player in making application development on the Solana blockchain easier, especially for web developers and large institutions.
