Arbitrum and Dpop Studios Team Up to Create a "New Here" Film That Raises NFTs

The Arbitrum Foundation, an organization engaged in blockchain technology, announced its partnership with Dpop Studios, a new media company focused on digital art. The two parties will work together to produce the film "New Here", which depicts an artist's journey into the world of crypto and NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

The film will be produced by Shane Boris, who previously won an Academy Award at the prestigious Oscar awards for the documentary "Navalny". Boris said that the film aims to explore the potential and challenges faced by artists who use new technologies such as blockchain and AI (artificial intelligence) to create innovative and original works of art.

"We want to show how NFT artists and artists are creating in new ways like never before," Boris said in an interview. "We also want to experiment with new ways to tell stories and connect artwork with audiences, leveraging the power of web3."

Web3 is a term that refers to the third generation of the internet, which is based on decentralized technologies such as blockchain. Web3 is considered the future of the internet, as it provides freedom, transparency, and ownership to its users.

"New Here" will consist of 11 short films that will be released gradually throughout this year. Each short film will be accompanied by an NFT collection called Glimpses, which viewers can claim on the Zora platform. Glimpses is a digital artwork inspired by the short film, and will provide viewers with a more interactive and immersive viewing experience.

"We want to create a digital university that integrates digital entertainment and ownership in a way that the media and film industry has never done before," said Nina Rong, Head of Ecosystem Development at the Arbitrum Foundation. "By owning NFTs related to short films, audiences will be able to enjoy the film in a more immersive and personal way."

This isn't the first time the film and crypto worlds have collaborated. Last year, Decentralized Pictures, founded by the son of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, Roman Coppola, also funded the film "The Quiet Maid", which was largely financed by NFT sales.

According to data from NonFungible.com, the NFT market has grown rapidly in recent years, with transaction volume reaching more than $10 billion (Rp156 trillion) by 2023. Several famous artists and celebrities, such as Beeple, Grimes, Snoop Dogg, and others, have released their artworks in the form of NFTs.
