LayerZero Airdrop Claim is Open, Donation Required Before Claiming!

Bittime - LayerZero airdrop claims have opened with a new mechanism called Proof-of-Donation. With 85 million ZRO available to claim, the process started on June 20 and will run until September 20.

The LayerZero airdrop claim process starts on June 20 at 18:00 WIB. Eligible users can visit the claim page on the official LayerZero website. To claim ZRO tokens, users must contribute $0.10 in USDC, USDT, or ETH per ZRO they wish to claim. This donation will go to the Protocol Guild, a non-profit collective that supports Ethereum core developers.

Claims will be open for three months, from June 20 to September 20. Users can access the claims pages of various supported blockchain chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain, and Avalanche.

Proof-of-Donation for LayerZero Airdrop Claims

LayerZero introduced a new mechanism called Proof-of-Donation, where users have to donate a small amount of funds to claim tokens. This mechanism is designed to avoid the challenges faced by traditional airdrops, such as Sybil activity and airdrop farming which often do not contribute to the long-term success of the protocol.

Benefits of Proof-of-Donation

1. Donations to Ethereum Core Developers : Donations received will be channeled to the Protocol Guild, supporting Ethereum Layer 1 R&D development. These funds will be disbursed over 4 years according to the Protocol Guild's on-chain contract.
2. Community Engagement : Users who donate demonstrate a long-term commitment to the LayerZero protocol and the crypto ecosystem as a whole.
3. Support from LayerZero Foundation : LayerZero Foundation will match all donations up to a maximum of $10 million, increasing total financial support for Ethereum core developers.
