Transactions Per Second Reach Highest Record

According to data from L2BEAT, the total transactions per second ( TPS ) of Ethereum's scaling network, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 blockchains, reached a record high of 246.18 on June 16. This means around 21.2 million transactions were processed throughout the day.

Xai Leads Improvement

Much of this growth can be attributed to Xai, a new Ethereum Layer 3 scaling solution designed for gaming applications and supported by Offchain Labs. Before June 10, Xai's daily TPS was around one transaction. 

However, Xai has seen a rapid rise in recent days, reaching an impressive peak of 101.72 TPS on June 16. This represents more than 41% of the total transactions processed by the Ethereum scaling ecosystem that day.

Old Players Remain Strong

While Xai is growing rapidly, established scaling solutions such as Arbitrum and Base continue to play an important role. On June 16, they recorded healthy TPS numbers of 33 and 21 respectively. 

These solutions also offer much higher Total Value Locked (TVL), with Arbitrum One at $18 billion and Base at $7.6 billion compared to Xai at $1.38 million and Proof of Play Apex (Layer 3 focuses on other games from Offchain Labs) at $695,000.
